I've written about this before - that you should have a plan and goals if you're attending a business expo as a vendor.
Figure out prior to the Expo who you'd like to meet, how many connections you'd like to make, and - most importantly -what your follow up should be.

Reality is - you can sign up for new sites daily. You put up your resume...and sometimes, that's all you'll ever do on that particular site.
But not all sites are like that - some grab your attention and you become involved. You answer questions, put up notes, events, blogs...make new contacts, search for people, etc.

Do you believe that we're moving from giant global networks like Facebook, Plaxo and MySpace to more focused "nice" networks like the ones on Ning? Lately I've seen more activity on niche sites like Ning, than on the "big boys of social networks".
